Making wine from Fruit

Making grape wine from fresh grapes

It can be very rewarding to make your own wine from fresh grapes.

However, beware!

When we say fresh grapes, we really mean FRESH grapes; and, good ones too. You need to make sure of 2 things.

  1. The grapes must be a recognised good winemaking variety.
  2. They must be as close as you can get to "just picked". If they were picked 2 or more days ago, you wine will not be nearly as good as it could have been.

The following pages describe basic methods for making both white wine & red wine. The methods are based on the use of our Wine Production Kits which are complete packages for grape winemakers that include all the ingredients usually used by experienced professional winemakers. The kits come with instructions that are also reproduced here.

There is also a very important page of winemaking tips. This is a must read section.
