METHOD

1... GRAINS
Bring 2L of water in a pot to 75°C, Add the crushed grain. Steep for 30min, then strain into a second pot. Rinse grain with hot water until it runs clear

2... BRIESS MALT, CORN SYRUP & HOPS
In the 2nd pot add the Briess Pilsen Malt & Corn Syrup and bring to the boil. Hops will be added at various times during the boil so a suggestion is to use a kitchen timer. Times are exact so pay attention…

3…HOP Schedule (total boil time 30 minutes)
Add 25g Citra for 30min
Add 25g Citra & 25g Amarillo at 0 min . Remove from heat & let steep for 20 min. Strain into your clean & sanitized fermenter.

4…. KIT CAN
Heat the Black Rock India Pale Ale can in hot water, then open & empty into your brew.

5…FERMENTATION
Bring the volume in your brew to a final volume
of 21 litres with cold water. Stir well.
Add the yeast when the starting temperature is
around 25°C. Brew between 18—24 °C.

Dry Hopping— begin on Day 4 of Fermentation
Throw the last 25g of Citra into the fermenter... As an option you can seal these hops in a muslin cloth strainer bag to reduce sediment.
No heating required

MASHING WITHOUT TEARS MASHING WITHOUT TEARS

Here's a dead easy way to make a "mash" beer

Some brewers would like to try their hand at making a beer using the traditional grain mashing tecnique but are put-off by the technical complexity, the high cost of the equipment & the need to put aside the best part of a day to do it.

Here's an easy way to do it that requires no specialised equipment & takes very little of your time.
